Les r\u00e9actions m\u00e9tamorphiques d\u00e9crivent l&rsquo;ensemble des transformations physico-chimiques qui affectent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/planete\/questions-reponses\/geologie-roche-minerai-mineral-difference-15423\/\">les roches et min\u00e9raux<\/a>\u00a0lors des variations de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/physique-pression-17466\/\">pression<\/a>\u00a0et de temp\u00e9rature. La diagen\u00e8se est le processus m\u00e9tamorphique associ\u00e9 \u00e0 la lithification ou\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sante\/definitions\/biologie-induration-2728\/\">induration<\/a>\u00a0des s\u00e9diments sous l&rsquo;effet de la compaction (augmentation de la pression) et de la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sante\/definitions\/medecine-deshydratation-3237\/\">d\u00e9shydratation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Une modification chimique in situ<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dans ce contexte, la m\u00e9tasomatose illustre la phase de transformation qui se joue lorsqu&rsquo;il y a remplacement d&rsquo;un min\u00e9ral par un autre au sein d&rsquo;une roche. Ce remplacement tr\u00e8s lent,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/chimie-atome-1990\/\">atome<\/a>\u00a0par atome, se fait gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la circulation de fluides et aux processus de dissolution\/pr\u00e9cipitation. De mani\u00e8re quasi simultan\u00e9e, certains \u00e9l\u00e9ments de la roche sont donc dissous et remplac\u00e9s par d&rsquo;autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments pr\u00e9sents dans la solution hydrothermale. \u00c0 la fin, une roche est remplac\u00e9e par une autre sur place, tout en conservant son\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/chimie-solide-15332\/\">\u00e9tat solide<\/a>, par\u00a0transfert de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/physique-masse-15213\/\">masse<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Il faut toutefois pr\u00e9ciser la diff\u00e9rence entre le m\u00e9tamorphisme classique et le m\u00e9tasomatisme. Le premier est en effet associ\u00e9 \u00e0 un changement min\u00e9ralogique\u00a0<em>in situ<\/em>\u00a0mais sans modification de la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/chimie-chimie-15837\/\">chimie<\/a>\u00a0de la roche. Le second s&rsquo;op\u00e8re dans un syst\u00e8me ouvert avec apport et d\u00e9part d&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/chimie-element-chimique-15852\/\">\u00e9l\u00e9ments chimiques<\/a>. Les deux types de transformation requi\u00e8rent cependant la pr\u00e9sence d&rsquo;eau. M\u00e9tamorphisme et m\u00e9tasomatisme ont donc g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement lieu en m\u00eame temps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exemple de r\u00e9actions m\u00e9tasomatiques<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La m\u00e9tasomatose peut affecter de tr\u00e8s nombreux types de roches et divers environnements g\u00e9ologiques.
